Insulated Systems (Z) Ltd, together with DFID (UK Department for International Development)

Built a cold storage unit, which was designed, manufactured,

assembled, and delivered:

  • 80mm thick PUR core insulation panels foamed-in-place with a density of 40kg/m3 and with 0.5mm Chromadek skin with a food-grade Arctic White paint finish;
  • A refrigeration system consisting of a 1.25 Horsepower compressor with a 3.2kW evaporator blower running R404a refrigerant gas
  • All operating at 220V / 50Hz / 1-phase and achieving a low temperature of +1oC, as per the specifications required for this application.

The Battery Bank + Inverter + Solar PV off-grid system consisted of:

  • FREEDOM WON 20/14 Lithium Ion Battery, with a life expectancy of 15 years and which could be discharged up to 70% and at 14kWhrs per cycle (as standard);
  • A 6kW Li-ion compatible Inverter with a 96% performance efficiency (max.) and a warranty up to 25 years.
  • This system offered an Annual; Energy Yield of 11.3MWh (Mega Watt hours) ay a specific yield of 1746 kWh/kWp.
